CMS-GeoScience Ltd is delighted to announce that Rory Bardner has joined us a Marine Geologist in our Geotechnical team based in #Falmouth, #Cornwall.

Rory completed his Masters in Geology and Geophysics, graduating with a first from Imperial College London (Royal School of Mines) before starting his career with Marine Space as a Marine Geoscience Consultant, which gave him a good introduction to the geophysical and geotechnical aspects of fixed and floating offshore wind, undersea cable and marine construction & dredging projects.

Rory will be working as one of our Marine Geologists with responsibility for overseeing and assisting in the completion of all of our geotechnical and geophysical projects both in the UK and abroad. He will be working with the team on MV FlatHolm collecting samples and then continuing the process in our labs in #Plymouth and Falmouth, with the subsampling and reporting. Rory’s interest in Geophysics brings an exciting new strength to our team and allows us to continue to expand our

core services to meet a wider scope of supply.

Rory has worked on projects to manage a series of aggregate dredging monitoring surveys and delivering the requisite technical reports. He has also assisted in the development of a sediment transport model to assess scour at turbine foundations, combining geophysical and geotechnical data to build a comprehensive ground model. Rory has also produced detailed regional seafloor interpretations from #MBES and #Sidescan Sonar datasets and has a good understanding of interpreting data in relation to burial risk assessments and route optimisation for offshore windfarm export cables.

Rory was born and grew up in #Devon and spent all of his life on the water either kayaking, sailing or surfing, so has an inbuilt love of the sea and all things maritime. Rory brings enthusiasm and energy to the team and we are sure will be a valuable addition to the company as we continue to expand and develop our geotechnical and geophysical services both here in the UK and around the world.
